Make sure that your drainage system, gutters and downspouts, are securely attached to your home and clear of any debris. A clogged gutter can cause water to enter your home during a storm and a loose drainpipe can bang against your siding causing damage.

Water damage from wrecked and leaking roofs can cause costly damage and become a breeding ground for dangerous mold. Wind-driven water can work its way under loose or missing shingles, cracked or peeling caulk, and even chipped or peeling paint.
